Blindfolded WIP cont.

I poked at the fourth daughter a bit. Experimented with a background. I have mixed feelings. See last post for more information about this painting.

Summer Class

For the last three weeks I've been in a summer class. It's an upper level drawing studio, with the same instructor that I had last fall. I'm loving it. Here are just a few images from my first two weeks.

The first week we drew from life in the studio. First a still life, and then we had an awesome model for three days. This image was my HW that weekend. It's supposed to be a self-portrait as your hero or worst nightmare. I attempted to draw myself as my dnd character *geek* a golden elf socerer, but it looks like neither me, nor her, so i'm not particularly thrilled with it, but i like the form and style, and my teacher enjoyed it as an image.

The second week we concentrated on landscape. This is in Yarka Sauce, from sitting out by the lagoon.

For HW we had to complete a night landscape. So this is a glimpse of the farm where I play Airsoft with my friends. Black charcoal on white paper. I'm very happy with how this one turned out and intend on giving it to the family who owns the barn.

Then we spent a day playing around with Sumi-e. It was hard! It's really something you gotta work at for a long time and master. None of mine were that exceptional, but I enjoyed making them. It's relaxing.

Kopecky Red

is a suite of monotypes for my printmaking class. The figures and birds i painted on plexi, and i used Citrisolve transfers for the backgrounds. The three characters are mine: Zophie, Krasna, and Pavla Kopecky. And the backgrounds are photos that i took when i was in New Zealand over spring break.

Adam the Rooster

is a series of lino prints for my printmaking class.

The image was inspired by a friend who told me a story about a specific rooster named Adam. Part of the intention was to print it onto tshirts for a few people, but we haven't done it.
